Sometimes a single purchase — like a department store purchase — supports multiple teams or departments. When that happens, you may want to split the transaction across multiple QuickBooks accounts or classes. Slash makes this process simple and intuitive with built-in transaction splitting.

To get started:

  1. Log in to your Slash dashboard and click on Accounting from the sidebar.

  2. Under the In Review tab, locate the transaction you’d like to split.

  3. On the right-hand side, click the three-dot menu (...) and select Split transaction.

  4. For each portion of the split:

    • Select a QuickBooks account

    • Choose the appropriate class

    • Enter the amount for that split

  5. Continue adding splits until the total amount matches the original transaction.

  6. Click Split to finalize. Slash will now sync this transaction to QuickBooks with your custom breakdown.

Splitting transactions in Slash gives you greater control and transparency in your accounting — making it easy to allocate expenses accurately across teams, departments, or projects.
