Slash offers a simple and powerful cashback program that lets you earn rewards for your card spend. This article walks through how cashback works, when you receive it, and why some merchants or transactions might not be eligible.

How and when cashback is paid out

Cashback on Slash is distributed monthly using a net-25 schedule—meaning you receive rewards 25 days after the close of each calendar month. For example:

  • Cashback from January 1–31 is paid out on February 25

  • Cashback from February 1–28 is paid out on March 25

Your rewards become available for redemption on the 25th of each month, and will appear on the top right side of your Slash dashboard.

Before they become available, they’re listed as pending cashback, which updates dynamically based on your card activity. Here’s how it works:

  • Before the 25th: Pending cashback = Cashback rate * (this month’s spend + last month’s spend)

  • After the 25th: Pending cashback = Cashback rate * (this month’s spend only)

Once the 25th arrives, your previous month’s pending rewards convert into available cashback, which you can redeem anytime.

Non-reward transactions and merchants

Some transactions are not eligible for rewards, even if they were made with your Slash card. These include:

  • Purchases made in a foreign currency or from non-U.S. merchants

  • Payments to restricted merchants (see list below)

Restricted merchants that do not earn cashback:

  1. Walmart

  2. Amazon

  3. Paypal

  4. CashApp

  5. Microsoft

  6. Apple

  7. Venmo

  8. Sam's Club

  9. Uber Eats

  10. Ubiquiti

  11. Doordash

  12. GrubHub

  13. Amazon Prime

  14. The Home Depot

  15. Costco

Slash may update this list at any time, and reserves the right to exclude other merchants from cashback eligibility at its discretion.

When spending with Slash, your card transactions should automatically earn cashback—as long as they qualify. Cashback never expires, and there are no caps on how much you can earn.

To review or redeem your available cashback, head to your Slash account homepage and click the Cashback button at the top right of your screen. And if you ever have questions about a specific transaction or your cashback balance, our support team is here to help at [email protected].
