With growing teams and higher transaction volumes, it’s important to have clear controls in place. Slash now allows you to define payment approval policies — giving you full control over who reviews and approves outgoing transfers before they’re sent.

This article walks through how to configure payment approval rules for your team.

Accessing payment policies and rules

  1. From your homepage, navigate to Payments using the left-hand sidebar.

  2. Click Payment Policies to access approval settings.

  3. Locate the Outgoing Transfer Approval Rule section and click the dropdown arrow to expand it. By default, this policy is set to Auto-approve transfers, meaning no approvals are required for outgoing payments.

Editing the approval rules

  1. Click the pencil icon next to the rule to begin editing.

  2. Select Require reviews to turn on manual approvals.

  3. Define your policy:

    1. Choose how many reviews are required.

    2. Assign who can review payments by selecting either specific roles (Owner, Admin) or individual users.

  4. Once your policy is set, click Save to put it into effect.

With approval rules in place, you can be sure no payment leaves your account without the right eyes on it. Whether you want one admin to sign off or require multiple reviewers across teams, payment controls let you customize your process with confidence.
