Setting merchant restrictions on your cards helps your business get better control over card spend, helping avoid instances of overspend or fraud. Slash has built-in features to help you set these limits on a per card, per card group or global level.
Setting Merchant Restrictions on a Global Level
We highly recommend that all customers implement global merchant restrictions, particularly if the vast majority of their spend is on a select few merchants.
First, navigate to the cards page and select "Controls" on the top right-hand side.
Next, select "Global Merchant Limits".
Finally, select "Custom" and select the merchants you'll be transacting at. These limits will apply to all cards you issue, and will supersede all other restrictions you place.
Setting Merchant Restrictions on a Card Group
To set merchant restrictions on a given card group, first navigate to the cards page and select the "Group" view on the top left hand corner.
Next, click on the three-dotted button on the right hand side of your screen. Select "Edit".
Select "Merchants" or "Merchant categories" to apply merchant restrictions on this card group.
Setting Merchant Restrictions on a single card
To set a merchant restriction on a single card, navigate to the cards page. Make sure the "Cards" view is selected.
Next, click on the card and click "Edit card limit".
Finally, select "Merchants" or "Merchant categories" to apply merchant restrictions on this card.
